Our History

Golden Heritage Foods was established in March of 2002 with the combining of assets of Barkman Honey Company located in Hillsboro, Kansas, and Stoller's Honey in Latty, Ohio.

Barkman's and Stoller's similar values, backgrounds in beekeeping, honey packaging, experience, and their determination to be the leaders in the honey industry drew these two companies together. Their combined intellectual pool, financial stability, and strong leadership led to the formation of Golden Heritage Foods, LLC which now garners their combined strength to pursue meeting the needs of the future.

Golden Heritage Foods is now the number two leader of branded retail honey sales and is the top provider of honey in the U.S. to the foodservice industry. In addition to these business segments, Golden Heritage Foods also supplies honey to the industrial ingredient market. Golden Heritage Foods' current position within the honey industry is the result of well over 40 years of diligent work by both the Barkman and Stoller families.

Today, Brent Barkman and Dwight Stoller share the ownership of Golden Heritage Foods. Brent serves as Executive Chairman of the Board and Dwight serves as CEO.

The company headquarters and primary packaging plant are located in Hillsboro, Kansas while the Latty, Ohio facility acts as a strategic secondary packaging location. Golden Heritage Foods currently employs more than 100 people in Kansas and Ohio.
